Fix for WYSIWYG stops working in WordPress

March 2, 2010

Has the TinyMCE wysiwyg editor stopped working within your WordPress page editor? I may have a fix for you...

Visit the WordPress forums and it wil be suggested that you try the following:

- deleting your browser's cache.
- deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin.
- switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-related problems.
- Reinstalling TinyMCE folder.
- Reinstalling WordPress.

I have found that these are all a bit drastic and that when I had a problem with the editor it was fixed by resetting internet explorer settings as follows:

In Internet Explorer go to menu Tools > Internet Options and the rest button is under the advanced tab.
